EU moves to partially suspend Visa Facilitation Agreement with Russia

The European Commission has put forward guidelines to help EU countries partially suspend the Visa Facilitation Agreement with Russia, the commission said on Twitter.

"Russian officials and business people no longer have privileged access to the EU. Today we put forward guidelines to help EU countries in applying the partial suspension of the Visa Facilitation Agreement with Russia," the tweet reads. "The suspension does not affect ordinary Russian citizens," the European Commission added.

The move is part of the EU’s sanctions stemming from Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
